Traditional company
since 1896

The Offenburg site in the 'Ortenau' region is the origin of the BruderGruppe.

The history of the Streb company began in 1896 when Friedrich Streb founded a mechanical workshop with two assistants in Metzgerstraße in Offenburg. The pioneer's field of activity was the repair of machines and gas engines.
Streb was also the first company in central Baden to build and repair electric motors.

After Friedrich Streb's death, his son Wilhelm Streb, a graduate engineer, succeeded him in the business, which he also ran until his death in 1954.

After his death, Franz Bruder, a 25-year-old electrical engineer and trained electrical mechanical engineer, took over the company and developed it over the years into a modern and innovative business. In 1958, under his direction, the electrical wholesale business was established, which today operates at 25 locations and employs around 1000 people.
